(quoted from post at 07:06:25 11/05/11) Rusty, Do you have them for a H ? Are they US Made ? Thanks

Yes, I can get them for an H also. Possibly made in Turkey though. It's been awhile since I've had one in inventory.

I just checked the availability for an H and those sheilds are priced slightly higher at about $64. Don't know why.

What is the difference between the H and M shield Rusty??? I know there is one(IH/Case websight shows different Part #s)But some guys on EBAY are advertising them as the SAME THING!!!

I think the notch where the PTO shift rod might be different????

The H shield is longer than the M, and the mounting brackets are spaced further apart on the M than on the H. The two will NOT interchange.

And also, the H had an early style with with a "step" in it for the PTO rod. later ones did not have the step.

Uh, be careful, there are 2 different shields for M' and H's. There's the short versions for the early model tractors that had the PTO clutch inside the rear end housing and a long version for later model tractors with the long PTO housing with the clutch outside of the rear end housing in a PTO extension housing.

There is no PTO clutch on a Farmall H or M. There was an early style PTO for the H that had a smaller diameter shaft, and yes, it did have its own "unique" PTO shield which is not available aftermarket, and the late style shield will not fit the early style PTO.

Any kind or type of PTO clutch did not appear until the introduction of the "independent" PTO on the Farmall 300 and 400.
