Thanks to the guys who responded to my post a few days ago. I have done some more research. The casting code on the housing between the engine and transmission is coded 3-4-L and the cylinder head is 1-14-L. Serial number is 100907. It was originally set up for distillate, but the starting tank and valve are long since gone. It has been converted to distributor ignition and has a gas manifold. Other than that it's pretty original, I think. Thanks for the help.
 
it's interesting to see what these machines have been thru.

my C appears to have a distilate manifold on it.. yet no other parts for distilate.

I have a few fords that have a mix of gas and propane aprts..
