1940 Farmall H tractor

(quoted from post at 22:49:01 11/02/11) I was wondering if anyone could tell me what a fully restored 1940 Farmall H Tractor is worth

On eBay, restored tractors that actually SELL, usually only bring less than $500 more than the same tractor unrestored but complete and running, even if they smoke like a steamer. Sad state of affairs really. On the one hand, it's a good thing if you are buying, on the other, it's a very bad thing if you are restoring then selling.

New tires, rebuilt to new engine, trans gears and bearings at new spec, brakes and all systems as showroom, original or a little more modern 'not wetlook shiny" paint. max at 3000 with a buyer wanting it a lot. Just painted and not restored, with average tires 1500 max. There is no doubt that this is unfair (a poor quality import "tractor" will bring 5 times that) the tractor will work for a living and be happy to serve far longer than the toy tractors costing far more. But market is market, and thay made too many thousands of the H modle for it to have desirability beyond its usefulness. Jim
