Can any one advise me what type, and or weight of oil or grease needs to be put into the front bolster where the steering gears are?

I have rebuilt several and unless you have replaced the out-put seal yours will probably not hold 90wt as thats what was there originaly. Some use cornhead grease. But for the top bearing and the worm on the gear to work well 90wt is the best. Not that hard to rebuild just remove the assy by removing the 4 bolts at the bottom of the sector and the whole assy will drop down.Remove the pedestal first.

We have rebuilt the unit, put new seels, and gaskets, in. The only part we did not do is where the steering rod goes down throw
