Serial says 48 casting codes will tell for sure .

Each tractor has a unique serial number.

When you see serial number listings, they only list the FIRST serial number built in a given year. That is not the ONLY serial number for that year.

If, for example, you have a serial number of 6861, and you find a list of serial numbers like this:

1941 - 501
1942 - 6354
1943 - 10539

Your serial number, 6861, is between 6354 and 10539. That would make the tractor a 1942 model by this example.

Your tractor was built the later half of 1948. Check your casting codes on the major parts like the engine block, rear frame and maybe the castors to narrow it down further to the approximate month.
