Noticed in another post you mentioned cylinder bars were rebuildable...something a mig welder would do or is it more involved than that?

There is at least one outfit- Trimpe, that rebuilds them. I think they also cut out every other rib. I think they are in NE. Maybe St. John"s Welding (MI?) does similar. These bars need to be in balanced pairs- I wouldn"t try welding them myself. The ones pictured looked like someone welded on them- they were not very smooth.

googled stuff- St. John"s welding is in KS, Trimpe is Clarence Trimpe, couldn"t find the state (maybe IN?) but the town is Seymour. BTW- the pic I referenced was in another post about bars on an A.

I've got 2 sets of Trimpe bar's , I can't say enough good things about them !! After I put the first set in within 3 days I pulled a set of darn near new Deere bars out of the other combine & put Trimpe's in it too .

Larry- just curious. Did I get it right that Clarence Trimpe is the one who does the bars, not Trimpe Mfg in NE?, the one I got from the first google, along with my ? memory? Seemed like Trimpe in NE was into mfg, but other stuff. Also, is Clarence Trimpe in IN? TIA

Trempe bars are in seymour indiana.(812) 522-1398 they usually have a set on the shelf and take yours in trade. outstanding capacity increase.
