Changing coolant in 460 Farmall, easy job for a novice?

What kinda job is it to change the coolant in my 460 gas? Simple as changing the oil or is it a more complicated process? If it's fairly easy could someone attempt to "walk me through it" via a post. Thanks in advance!

yea just open petcock at bottom of radiator and drain into a bucket. then get either premixed or U mix it coolant. if you get the kind you gotta mix 50/50 is good in most climates, if you live far north the 2/3rds coolant and 1/3rd water.
just refill, run till hot, let it cool for a few hours and recheck level. should be about 2in from top....oh, you can use the standard green coolant.

Thanks for the quick reply! How often is it recomended to change the fluid? I probably at the moment dont put more than 50 hours on the tractor a year. Is this a yearly thing to change or will the coolant stay good/usable for a longer period of time?

To do it 100% right you need to drain the engine also. The operators manual will show you where the engine drain plug or petcock is located. The coolant will be good for many years.

The antifreeze never goes bad but it looses it's anti-rust properties. As long as it looks clean I would run it. But if it looks rusty go ahead and change. Some of the wet sleeve engines are subject to cavtation and need to be watched closer but the 460 is a dry sleeve engine.
