666 Hydraulics

My 666 gas, loader will barely lift itself, bucket tilt and steering both work fine, I am hoping it is not the pump. Any ideas would be great.

My good friend has a 656 with the same problem.
Under the seat or rock shaft there is a low pressure hydraulic tube the maybe cracked or broken off. This has happened twice with his 656.

If the bucket tilt will move a load You must have a bad lift cylinder. Older DuAl loader cyls were bad about piston seals, or the piston coming off the shaft.

The lift cylinders and the bucket cylinders are both on the same hydraulic circuit... They use the same pump, the same supply line, the same return line... If there were a problem with the tractor, the bucket would be weak too.

Before you unhook anything, relieve the pressure by shutting the tractor off and working the levers in both directions with the loader on the ground. It makes reconnecting the hoses easier later, and you don't get sprayed when you start unscrewing connections.

Try swapping remotes first. Unhook the bucket and connect the lift to the bucket's remote.

If the lift is still weak, it could be something as simple as a bad quick-connect, or a collapsed hose. Hydraulic hoses will collapse inside, but look fine on the outside.

To check for a bad quick-connect, swap the connectors from the bucket to the lift.

If that doesn't help, it's either a collapsed hose or blown seals in the lift cylinders.

Did you lift anything really-really heavy lately?
