H Front Wobble

For what it's worth, I think I may have fixed my wobble. [DISCLAIMER= Try this at your own risk. I worry about the steering shaft cracking.]
First, I serviced the wheel bearings, cleaned and lubed them, tightened up the bearings, made them smooth as butter.
Next, I finally figured that my wobble was the worm gear has too much wear and slop, where it meshes with the circle gear. I noticed the mid-teeth of the worm gear were smaller thickness than the outer teeth. I ground off 1/4" of the rear of the worm gear teeth, and built a 1/4" spacer to fit between the bearing and the front of the worm gear. Stuck her all back together; this idea shifts the worm gear 1/4" to the rear.
Man, does it work great. Drove all over the place, and drove a few miles into town, gassed her up, went to the car wash, miles back home, and it drives smooth, like your car. Just a very slight steering correction ever so often, just like your car.
My worry is that the worm gear shaft has been ground-down, a little, and might fatigue crack. If it does I'll let everydoby know. But MAN what a difference!
