went out to try and start B-been sitting up a year-battery dead-hand cranked and it started-drove about 30 yds and it died.cranked it again-it ran for 20 secs then died again.this happened over and over.6V reverse-what's the best way to troubleshoot this?

Make sure you're getting gas to the carburetor. Check the flow from the tank by disconnecting the gas line at the carb. Hold a clean container to catch the gas. If there's a full stream of gas from the tank remove the tube fitting where your gas line connects. Look for a screen behind that fitting that be plugged with dirt or rust. If it's looks clean you probably need to remove the carburetor and soak it in carb cleaner and blow out the jets. Check your float level. Hal

When it's running, does it run ok? If so, poor fuel flow from the tank or stuck float.....as in stuck shut (or close to it).

Sure sounds like fuel starvation. My only addition to what Hal told you below is that, when I run diagnostics on mine, I make sure it is in 100% condition and that includes fresh gas and a charged battery. With the tractor sitting gassed up and fully charged and it still doing what you are saying it is doing, then I start running connections and make sure everything is clean and bright. Then I clean the carb completely and usually put a kit in it. After that I scratch my head a lot and read my manual and, generally, I find the problem in short order.
