OK guys....

Been super busy with harvest BUT good news it's all ready for paint now finally.

Did give us more time for getting all the parts together... here we go of inventory of parts all OFF tractor at painting:

Rebuilt original started & general
Cleaned radiator & new mounts
Replacing all wiring, lights, plugs, coil, spark plug wires, dist, etc
Replacing all hyd hoses
Replacing all emblems
Replaced fan bearing
Carb rebuilt
Hood bolt kit
New steering wheel

Im sure there is more...

Planning to removed that "mount" for fuel tank also and removed rear wheel, they will be powder coated.

Hoods and fenders have been "worked" over completely, and primed several times.

As for paint I am picking it up tomorrow.... crazy but i bought the best you can get. Full clear coat, etc

This tractor is SO important to me, look up my old posts and you can read the full story. Cant believe how many hrs we have in this, but it will be done RIGHT. Already know it will be on one mag cover, how COOL is that. Dad would be SO proud!

other pic is me on tractor in like 1984

Excited to have this project turing the corner!

Nice looking tractor, I love the 460 and 560 series. We had a 460 when I was a teenager and a 560LPG later on. I sold the 560 to a man in Kentucky after my Dad passed away. It was in need of overhaul and the steering gear looked like it was getting ready to strip out. My brother and I then bought a John Deere 5105, I wished my Dad could have lived to use it, it was the first new tractor we have ever owned.

In the photo of you on that 560, there is a faint image of something, looks like a man wearing a dekalb or some other ball cap! Or maybe it just my old eyes. Guaranteed dad is watching and is proud!

Thanks guys.....

lots of work to do it right, wow

Just very lucky to have some good friends who have been helping me on this project.

we just kept going, farther and farther.... :)

ummm wonder what show we should debut this tractor?? we are in central IL, planning to be at RPRU next summer.

Now the fun begins,
NO paint or overspray on the tires !!
Some take them off & put the tractor on jack stands, makes shooting primer & color much easier. others leave them in place, it's always something...
Taping off every little thing, final cleaning of nooks & crannies, going over it twice, heck three times looking for what else needs to be cleaned or taped. Primer.....This part seems to take FOREVER..c'mon RED !! When you get that first coat of red on, then you see every lil thing you've missed, hopefully, with all this prep, you see nothing.
Then on to the subsequent coats, drying time, will it EVER end.........
actually no, NOW you have to re-assemble this beast, nicking & scratching new paint as you go..very frustrating..but it's all part of it.
We've all been there, this is where you need to take your time, the end results will show,... perservere......patience is key.
