Belt Pulley

A quick question (and maybe a stupid one). I just pulled the bolster off my '44 H last night and now I need to pull the belt pulley from the end of the crankshaft. There is a nut on the face of the pulley with a piece of metal bent over against the nut (a tab). To remove that nut do I just pry the tab away from it and then remove the nut? I think I already know the answer, I just want to make sure. Thank you.

You are correct; if you get a socket from NAPA that fits the nut on front wheel bearings for older 4-wheel drive pickups, it should work on your H. The one I have is shaped & welded steel; not to many $$$. A hammer & chisel work also.
The crankshaft pulley should slide off rather easily once the nut is removed. Note the inner tab bent on the washer so it will lock in place when re-assembling.
