Farmall 240

Hi everyone,

I have a few questions about a Farmall 240.

The first question is, what might be an approximate value of a wide front 240, w/2PT, P/S which has a problem, less than 3K hours, stored inside so the sheet metal and paint are in real good condition, a 3PT adaptor, included are a fast hitch plow and disc, and a 3PT blade. I know the tractor was taken care and every thing works except the P/S.

Second question, does anyone know where I could find a good P/S pump at for this tractor?

$1800-2800 for the tractor, depending on tire situation.
$100-200 for the plow
$400-500 for the disk
$100-150 for the blade.
bundled together might save some $$
no idea where to find pump. i don't believe many 240s had p/s, so a parts yard might be a long shot. try messick's website to see if available new. the 240 is usually listed together with the 230 parts breakdown.

If everything else works but the P/S, it's not the pump. Same pump supplies flow to [u:4f996cde5a]all [/u:4f996cde5a]the hydraulics. There is a "Regulator safety and flow control" valve (assy. # 370 760 R91) that splits off part of te flow for the P/S and then there is the hydrostatic steering unit itself that could be the problem. This is assuming it's factory P/S and not added later.
