transmission dope


The only "dope" needed on a Farmall Super A would be on the drivers seat, and it would be much better if you did not allow the "dope" to operate the tractor.
 
Not sure what you mean by "dope"... but since there's not too much you can put into a transmission other than oil -

I'd say between 4 and 5 quarts.

4 if no pto/pulley
4.5 if pto no pulley
5 if pto and pulley.

If you've never checked it before - your best bet is probably not to bother checking it - just draing it and put fresh stuff in.

Drain it by the plug found near the rear, bottom of the transmission.

You might also want to flush it out while you're at it.

Just drain it - fill it with kerosene (a gallon or two) ride it around in a few circles - drain it again - then refill with 90 weight lube.
