Bought a 311 ih 2-point plow. Cant seem to get it set right am not familiar with 2 point plows. What position should the handle on left side be set at and also the wheel on left side?

Please repost with a pic of the plow. If you are talking about a "SC" type 2 point hitch, the location of the left wheel does not make any difference unless you wish to use the wheel track location to make the next pass. You can site over the radiator cap if the wheel is located just right and I do not remember the setting but it seems like it was 5 or 6 inches from the end of the axel cover. You will need a level bar adjustment from the level mechanism to the inside front rocker arm to level the plow. Draft is set by attaching the front draft tube to the right front rocker arm.

LMack, you're not even close.

IIRC, a 311 plow is a newer type with the boxed main beam, 3 bottoms. Meant for the newer bigger tractors with fast hitch like 460/560.

The left wheel he is talking about is on the plow. The depth gauge wheel. You set that for whatever depth you want to plow.

The lever on the left side is to level the plow. You set it so the plow cuts a level furrow side-to-side.

The biggest issue is setting the tread width properly on the tractor, so you can run the tractor's right rear wheel in the previous furrow and take a full cut on the first bottom. That depends on the number of bottoms on the plow and the width of the bottoms.
