How thick should the pad be under the radiator on the support.
Would a couple layers of old tire intertube be enough.
It has 3/8 thick pads in there now.

The pads can be made from sidewall from a tire. 5/16 to 3/8 seems correct. If not fiber reinforced it will squish out and allow the rad to wear through. Jim

Send me the dimensions, shape. And you address private. Email is open. I have a section of conveyor belt that is perfect for radiator pads. And a band saw to cut them. Just pay the postage, and $1 handling.

I have some I have made out of thick rubber that I have used for numerous radiators. Give me your mailing address and I will mail some to you.

conveyor belting is the best material. Total thickness is not critical, as long as you have enough bolt length left to get a full nut on it. Jim is right that if you use a non-reinforced rubber only pad, it will crush too much (or has the potential to, rubber comes in different compositions, some are harder than others).
