i bought a 656 hydro a couple weeks ago everything works but it misses on and off new points cond cap rotor and wires it has champion plugs should i try a different brand of plugs ive been told that autolights will fix this. is this true

Autolites are the plug of choice for quite a few of us, and it sure won't hurt to install new spark plugs. Whether the new plugs will be a 100% cure depends on what else might be contributing to the issue, but a set of new plugs will eliminate ONE of the possibilities.

If the current plugs are old enough to be questionable, by all means change them.

But did you try cleaning the new points? with some very high grit sand paper. New points can have a coating on them that needs to come off.
