i have a farmal H and is it possible to run a doulbe acting cyliner? Ive heard you cant just a single. any help would be great thank you

Yes, you can use a double acting (2 way) cylinder, but first you need to install a double acting control valve.
 
Yes! I use one on my H . Works good. I used the belly pump for the hydraulics. Run ahose from belly pump to double acting valve and then a return hose back to pump. I put a tee in the fill pipe for the pump and attached the return hose. Then run a hose from control valve to the cylinder and one back to the control valve.
 
Plumbing the return to the drain in the bottom of the belly pump with a "T", can prevent spurting oil from the fill cap. Jim
 
I thought of that too, but I haven't had any trouble with it so far. Used it two summers now no over flow. The only drawback is you can't use regular dip stick for measuring. But my H didn't come with one anyway.
