d 239 head torque

Hi all. I have 260A backhoe that Iam replacing the head gasket. My I&T book says the headbolt torque is 90 ft. lbs. Never owned an IH before, but this seems awful light to me. Your thoughts and comments are welcome. Thank you much.

The IH engine service manual lists a few different torques depending on gasket and type of bolts (there is also one for nuts). Here is what is listed for bolts:

Cylinder head capsrews with round washer (oiled)
Gasket without plastic seal 30, 59 & 85.
Gasket with plastic seal 30, 60, 110.

Cylinder head capscrews with collar (oiled)
30, 59, 110.
