Oil waste when changing Hy-Tran hydraulic filter

When the six bolt cover on the right side of the center section of a 460, 504, 560, 660, etc is removed, how much oil comes out of the filter cavity?

Is it like a cup or two or maybe several buckets?

when I pull the plate on my 340 (similar, I think) I only lose about a cup or so. If you have a gallon of new on hand you should have plenty to replace what is lost.

Yes, very little will come out. (Lesson than a gallon)

You should lose only the oil that is in the filter cavity. The oil inlet tube is above the oil level so that no more oil should enter the filter area unless the transmission is overfilled.
