I am working on a 560 and have found the hyd. oil to be white, this is caused by water if I am correct? I drained the system as much as possible but it has a loader attached. My question is do I need to somehow clean the system better. Would you pore diesel fuel in it, let that set for a while and then drain it.This is the 3rd time i have drained the system and still getting white hydr. fluid.

You need to drain the cylinders and pull the filter out.Drain the hoses as well.I once had a 560 with that same problem-never could get it completely clean.Steve

Darn near impossible to get all the water out of a system with one change, unless you disconnect every hose, valve, pump and cylinders and completely drain them. Used to get leaks in heat exchangers in our test stands and even with draining everything we could get loose or open, there would still be water hiding in there somewhere. When we got as much out as possible, we left the reservoir open and heated the oil above boiling while circulating it. sometimes took a day or two to boil out that last water. One point here.... it takes surprisingly little water to make oil "milky" below the boiling point of the water in it and above the boiling point, it can [u:690ea02b2e]appear[/u:690ea02b2e] to be clear. If you have changed it 3 times, there is probably not much water left. Water is highly errosive in high pressure systems, but if your system is 1500psi or lower, it can probably tolorate a [u:690ea02b2e]little[/u:690ea02b2e] water.

Hey DeltaRed.... was not too far from you 2 weeks ago... Went through Gunnison on our way to Lake City for a week. sure would like to have stayed another week or more, but I hear they got snow last week.
