Have a (what appears to be) GM alternator listed as original Farmall H equipment. I thought they used generators until the early 70's on most tractors?

Well the bracket MUST be original... look at the genuine IH red paint on it! ;-}

(And the NEATLY rounded ends on the OEM bracket!)

It does have a couple of "dot" bolts to mount it.......

Of course that"s too new for an H, but our "70 656 uses a GM alternator, been on there since new. Not sure when they switched to alternators? Most GM cars switched in the mid to late 60"s.

Dang it I gave fifty dollars for a new alternator when I could have bought a used original for just a little more.
