farmall m christmas tree hyd help

I have searched the archives and I just bought an M and I am not familiar with the hyd setup. I have the single action hyd coming out of the left side of the torque tube and when I pull the hyd lever for the belly pump I get 1200 lbs of pressure.

The problem is I cannot get pressure out of the dual action remotes from the christmas tree. As i have read in the archives the single action hyd lever must be pulled back for the christmas tree to work. I have pulled the lever back so that the knob on the bottom of the rod rest on the lever guide located by the steering column and I dont get anything. Do I need to pull the single action lever all the way back as If I were trying to raise a single action cylinder?

When I got the tractor someone had taken the rod off of the christmas tree which makes me think there may be a problem I am just trying to figure it out.

thanks in advance.

Valve should be setting on top of fill pipe for the liftall pump and reservoir. Liftall 1/2 inch pipe thread opening on right side of tractor should go to C.T.V. opening on other side of C.T.V. operating lever. 2 outlets on rear of valve go to cylinder. With C.T.V. lever centered the liftall lever is pulled all the way back and with original parts there was a lock to keep it back. You may have to tie it or whatever. Now oil is passing through the C.T.V. and back in the fill hole with no pressure. When you operate the C.T.V. with a double acting cylinder. Pressure goes to the hydraulic cylinder from one cylinder hose and returns back through the C.T.V. to reservoir.

I have found that a smal 4" or 5" vise-grip is useful for keeping the Belly-Pump lever all the way out so the two-way valve will function.

There is suppose to be a locking mechanism on the rod support for the belly pump to lock that rod into place, as if you were pulling it all the way back. I have one with that and one that i have a little chain to hold it back, and used the belly pump rod on the Cristmas tree valve.

Thanks for all the comments. I worked on it today and looked at the parts book on case's website. I found that the hyd hose was not hooked up from the belly pump to the tree. I hooked one up and it worked as it should.

Now for part 2:
On the left side there are 2 ports that come out of the pump and one on the right. Which side should the hyd hose come from that then goes to the tree to provide the fluid?

Thanks again.

The two on the left are different from one another.
neither should be used if the CTV is used.
The front one is internally "T"ed to the elbow on the right side. same port different side. It will have no pressure when the CTV is in center position because the CTV bleeds off all pressure to the reservoir. If the CTV is used (pulled or pushed) the pressure will be equal to the pressure in the hoses from the CTV. this causes problems in almost all things you intend to do, as the cylinders could move independently of each other and be out of control through that connection.
The rear Elbow is a delay valved port used only with an implement that has a front and rear lifting setup to allow tillage to the end of the field with the rear gang of shovels. It is also connected to the same initial pressure ports and will give the same type of grief and wrong motion as the front left port.
If there were no CTV the two front valves are used on loader lift cylinders, and the rear left Plugged. on certain cultivators (and other IH implements) the left rear was used in concert with the two fronts to lift the implements in two stages. Jim
