Weighing out the options..rebuild existing starter or can a person buy a rebuilt cheaper..where can a person buy a rebuilt? thanks for all the help..

My experience (several starters...) has been it costs less to have my local starter/alternator shop rebuild an existing starter than it is to purchase a rebuilt.

You can also be certain your rebuilt starter will fit(!)

If it is an original starter I would definetly repair it, if it is already a rebuilt would not matter to me, I would check it out and if serious probably get another rebuilt.

At least have your local rebuilder check it out. Most need brushes and bushings & good for a long time again. If it needs much more, look for a rebuilt.
