Fuel Cap color on 450D

What is the correct color for the fuel cap for a 450 diesel? I have seen then both red and black, which is the right way? Thanks

They would have been painted red at the factory. New fuel caps come already painted black and some people choose to leave them that color.

Kirk is correct. Generally if you paint it red, it will peel off due to gas fumes anyway. The factory (cap) black is a little more durable.

The early tractors had a low profile cap like a radiator cap, then higher top models thru parts & original equip shipped on new equipment, then the infamous free cap was basically the improved triple vent job but painted black for identification.
