Need to get a new heat houser (weather brake) for my M. Where is the best place to get one? Is there a brand that is better than others? Thanks.

I do not know if both companies are still making them, but they still have some old inventory for sale.

Burch Manufacturing, Fort Dodge Iowa

Femco

I have both, and like both so go with which ever you can still get.

check tractor house. Just type, 1066 in the search box, and take a look. They might cost about $10,000 but you could also have a radio adn air conditioning.

LOL

how about getting some metal fab tools like a planishing hammer, shrinker/stretcher, english roller, and make a retro 1940's or 1950's cab for it? MM UDLX cab comes to mind. That would be a blast!

I'm drooling thinking about getting the chance to build one!

btw, I know I didn't help you, but, if you shoot for the moon and land short, you are still a lot further ahead if you shot for Nebraska and hit WEst Virginia instead.

I'd avoid the femco. I bought one of their custom made comfort covers a couple years ago for my JD 2510. They no longer had canvas only vinyl. It sits on cock eyed and started ripping the first winter. I use this tractor to feed with in the winter and it is shedded when not in use so sitting outside wasn't an issue. Maybe they have an older canvas one sitting around though. If not don't even bother with vinyl. I got maybe 4 years out of mine and last year I just did without. I was talking to a guy who works on auto interiors and he said he could use my old one as a pattern and make a new one out of canvas. Sorry I couldn't help you find a decent one but if you find one let us know.
