Ok guy bear with me I have install the mounting plate, drive pump and upper bearing retainer.
When I put the universal coupler on the tranny shaft the coupler does not come flush to end of shaft, it is off the same thickness as the plate. When you try to put the rubber washer on both sides of the universal it is to thight about the thickness of the plate again. Because the upper bearing retain is mounted over the plate do I need to cut 3/8" off the upper universal to make it work? This would be the part that rides in the packing. If it were 3/8" shorter than evey thing would be fine.
