Hey Guys,

I have seen ALOT of hand cranks for sale on EBAY,and such. But some are "short" and some are longer.I see BOTH sizes listed for an M all of the time!Sometimes I see them listed as BOTH H & M. Even in OEM's catalog it shows the one that is 8" to the first bend fits an H,and them it shows the 17" fits a Super H,M ,SuperM What could be the difference????? Which one would be correct??? Does a wide front end have anything to do with it???

The original wide fronts stuck out in front by quite a bit, so yes, a wide front axle has everything to do with the length of the hand crank. Other than that, to the best of my knowledge, the same hand crank was furnished with everything from the Farmall H up through the 450.

Didn't the gas start diesels have a bigger size shaft? Some crank
shafts looked like they were turned down, and others were straight?
Did the gas tractors have the smaller turned down crank shafts?
???

Yes the gas shafts are smaller at the end. Hand cranks for diesel have a larger ID on the part that goes over the shaft.
