IHC 304 block

The only IHC 304 engine that I know of is a V8 engine for a Scout 4X4 Utility vehicle. If this is not a V8, look for other numbers, or post a picture. Jim

The 266, 304, and 345 were very popular engines in pickups, travelall's and trucks during the 60's. s When emissions controls started to tighten up in 70's IH kind of lost out on them as they turned into gutless wonders. Piston domes were changed to flat heads and wedge combustion chambers and they just were never the same.

Nick, more information please, and a picture if possible.

It is hard to tell if you found a 304 cubic inch IHC V8 engine...

OR...

if you found an engine with "IHC 304" stamped/cast into the block.

You said something about "A or C," well, obviously you know that an A or C doesn't have a V8 engine in it...

Did you find a 4-cylinder engine? Can you find any other numbers on the block?

The 392 was also in the same family of engines.
