what is the best way to transport a TD-6 crawler that does not run? It has a blade on the front that its sitting down on the ground. I am not sure how to get it up on some type of trailer.
Thanks

get the blade lifted up with a winch or jacks. cut some pipe to fit over the cyl. rods to prevent it from lowering. drag it up the trailer with a tractor.

Will the engine spin over??? If it does you maybe able to set a good battery in it pull the plugs out and have it in the gas start position. Then spin the engine over and hold the hyd control to lift the blade up. Then you can put it in low gear and lock the clutch. With the help of another person you can then slowly drive it up on a trailer using the starter. It will take some time to do that and the extra person will need to block the tracks when you stop spinning the engine over. Do not hold the start for long and let it rest so as to cool down. I have loaded lot of stuff this way. If you need more info on starting etc let me know I still have an owners manual laying around from one ot he old TD-6 crawlers

I winched mine backwards onto the trailer while holding the blade up in the air with a loader tractor. I think I pulled the pins holding the cylinders to do this but it has been a while.

Care to share how much you paid for it? I've got a dead one I'd like to get rid of. I have it's blade chained in place. It's the wide track version.

A tilting flatbed trailer with enough capacity is probably best. If it is positioned such that it can be aligned so its drawbar (rearend) is situated to go on first, it can be winched on directly, dragging the blade.
If not, lifting the blade and chaining it up is going to take a couple of 5 ton or better hydraulic jacks and blocking. Once up, it should be able to be moved in Neutral and loaded by winching. Jim
