Thanks Kenneth House, haven't got it done yet.
Still trouble-shooting my H, haven't got it started yet. Pulled all the wires out of the coil and distributor and found lots of green and black corrosion, plugging eveything up. (I know, I neglected my old H behind the barn for many years.) I also got all the grease and crud off the old coil, got 'er all shined up.
Here's my question; I am getting up in dollars on this project. I have a new 12-v coil from someplace, from years ago, sitting on my IH shelf in the barn. (My H system has a 12-v Delco alternator, negative battery ground, old original Farmall coil, and a white ceramic resistor in the line between the start-push-pull botton and the coil.)
Whether I get the old 6v coil working or not, if I want to try the 12v coil, do I remove the resistor out of that line between the starter push-pull button and the coil? Don't want to smoke-test anything.
As always, thanks guys. Really appreciate it. Cant; wait to hear that rain-flap on the exhaust pipe tap-tap-tappng again.
