parting out a 10-20 ???

Currently parting out a 10-20 and having some trouble. How does the differential come out of the housing (this is located between where the clutch pedal attaches and the brake assembly). Bigger problem is taking out the engine. I have all the bolts that i know of in the front off and the bolts in the clutch area right behind the clutch fork( tried to pop it out with the loader tractor but the whole tractor started lifting up...did i miss some bolts. thanks for any help you could provide. Andy

Andy, I don't have the answer to your question, but I have a question for you. Do you have the fuel bowl from under the gas tank? Is it solid brass? If so, is it for sale?

does it look like this:

There are line-up pins that will stick in the holes and hold the back of the engine down. Sometimes they stick pretty hard. I'm not sure how the dif comes out The transmission is in it's own case. If the tractor has a PTO it has to come out before you can remove the top cover.

I can' help ou either , but does it have a good governor on it, as I need a parts one. I would have to check what kind of governor it is.

I dont think the governer is any good. Everything is rusty and i dont think the tractor has run in 30 sum years. Bought it with another 10-20 out of South Dakota to use for parts to hopefully make 4 10-20s into one good restorable one with factory steel.

I got everything unbolted as far as I can see. The front part of the engine will lift up bout the back side wont. There was a spot with two round pieces of metal touching that had bolts through them. Took them out thinking that it would seperate there ???

don't see the pics but your disassembly problem is that you need to remove the alignment studs. There should be threaded studs sticking up. they are not bolts... the threads are there to remove them. Clean the threads real well and thread a nut on them and tighten them down to extract them. You may have to put some washers under the nut if they don't pull out far enough.
