To all the electronic jeniouses out there who also work on IHC: ((( FOR A BN)))
Over this winter I will be corilating all the parts for my restoration [ which should have taken place this year; but didn't] Bearings, seals,etc.then sandblasting and painting in the spring.
WHAT I AM UNABLE TO LOCATE IN SCHMATIC FORM IS THE FOLLOWING; A DILE FACE TACK PREFURRED AND AN HOUR METER ALL FOR or one that is preassembled. >> Looked through all the tacks and hourmeters I can find on line<<<
///6 VOLT//// O" I can find plenty for 12 volt and even electronic 6 volt. So far no 6volt dile face tacks though.
AS I re-assemble this tractor I want to keeptrack of the running hours { I will be puting the tractor to work again cutting grass etc., so I also need to have a proper working tack so I can set the pto speed corectly for the job being done.}
thanks fellows. Email me @ [email protected] with and assistance you might have .
Thank you.
Wm.

These should help with the tach issue. THe hour meter is a factory component that will need to be found from places like Bates Equipment (Indiana) Steel Wheel Ranch and other salvage yards.
If the governor is correctly working, it can just be run wide open and the PTO speed will be within Design specs of mowers and other shaft driven equipment. Jim.
Googled it

Dear Jim: I remember splintering a pitman arm while running the engine full tilt in easy mowing. This was several years ago when the tractor last ran AND the pitman arm was a new wooden one I had recently purchased. This is why I would like to find a clock faced tack that will run on 6v., There are plenty out there that have electronic numbers on a rectangular flat face. Maybe I am being overly cautious // but as the poet said "TIME & TIDE WATE FOR NO MAN" so I don't want to crack off another pitman arm ?? don't know if I can so easily find a new manufactured one for an IHC 21C bolt on mower for my BN. I have manufactured one before out of ash, long tedious task. It is my though that knowing the engine RPM and measuring the PTO shaft rpm and recording both can alleviate this problem from happening again. Wm.
