Hi all , it's a long story . I inherited my uncles W4 that sat in his barn for 30 years . After un-siezing it , and cleaning the carb and fuel system it started right up . But I let it sit for 2 months inside and now the carb is acting up . So I dismantled it today sprayed it with carb cleaner and it still won't run. When I spray gas into the carb it starts then qiuts. I used to see gas running out the bottom when it flooded and that doen't happen anymore .

My guess is that you didn't go far enough when you took the carb apart the second time. The float might be sticking on the hinge pin, or the needle valve might be stuck in the seat. Unless you thoroughly cleaned out the gas tank when you first got it running, there is still some old, varnished gasoline in there, and that is what is causing your fuel problems. Eventually, that old gas will get diluted enough that it will no longer cause problems, or you can have the tank cleaned out and eliminate the problem right away.

I did steam the tank and dissasembled the carb . the float was free and even the screen inside the fuel intake fitting was clean. I'm wondering if I didn't line up the gov. shaft it would have an affect on it . Also, when I unscrew the drain plug on the bottom of the card the gas runs out

Does the gas run out for a few minutes - you could just be seeing the results of the bowl eventually filling up. You could have a corroded fuel line or maybe some stuff still in the tank plugging up the outlet.

The tank has a baffle in it, and it is nearly impossible to do any kind of thorough cleaning BEHIND that baffle. About the only cleaning method that works is a chemical cleaning where you fill the tank and then let it set for a while.
