MD/Super MD/400D/450D Glow plugs??

I was looking around on Ebay and came across this MD, the seller claims it has glow plugs?? It sure looks like it from the pictures as well. Has anyone ever heard of these aftermarket setups?

Well that is a first to me and what it looks like is that someone has used 460-560 injectors . As to why they did this ya got me but i have never seen anything like that and i have been around then old gas start diesels since the early sixty's .

I've often times wondered why there isn't an aftermarket glow-plug setup for the gas/diesels. Hopefully, someone can fill us in. Also, if it's an old glow-plug kit, where's the ni-chrome element or is that what the red light replaced?

I would like to see the serial number on that one. There are quite a few things that are a hair different than my MD. Look at the starting tank. Mine is different for sure.
At that price I would buy it for the power steeing pump and live hyd!

It's a strange MD. Kinda like that auto worker who built a Caddy by bringing home assembly line parts in his lunch box.

SMTA or 400-450 upper bolster
SM or SMTA hydraulic reservoir
band brakes
Charlynn steering
glow plugs
belt pulley delete
battery under seat
alternator

Wonder why it doesn't have a fast hitch and a turbo.

They look like the glow plugs fitted in the UK built Super BMD tractors. MJ

Yeah! If it wasn't so far away it would be a serous consideration just for those parts.

It has replacement injectors with glow plugs and they say it doesn't run very well. What a surprise.

Been way better off staying with the gas side.
