4H project begins...

I just got this Super A a few months ago, and I'm planning to work with some of the kids in our 4H club to restore it over the winter.

Tractors will be a new thing for our club, it has been all beef cows, goats, and chickens up till now.

There are 4 kids who are very anxious to get going with it, ranging in age from 10 to 18.

I personally enjoy seeing the younger generation learn about these things, to carry on the knowledge of them. I suspect some of you do too, so I'll post some pictures of our progress as we go (not to mention I'll probably need lots of advice).

We had this tractor on display at a local "farm days" event with a sign saying "come back next year to see how we did" - so we've got a strict one year deadline!

(don't miss the cherry bomb muffler by the way - it came that way...)

Glad to hear you came by, you should have said hello - or perhaps you did? There were quite a few of us milling around.

Weather was miserable, it kept the crowds away, along with a lot of the tractors that were supposed to be there on display.

But we had a good time anyway.

The tractor is in pretty good shape, it shouldn't be too hard to hit our deadline, provided my wallet doesn't empty out first.

We're going to strip it right down - full engine rebuild, new brakes, seals everywhere, etc. etc.

Very interesting.

I see a road trip in the future for our club!

I've got friends in Ohio, about 100 miles closer, and we often trailer stuff back and forth.

It'd be on the high side of "almost too far", but for something like this, I'd do it.

I thought the date would be a problem, then realized it's 2013. That'd be perfect.

Thank you very much for sharing.
