886 and Westendorf WL-42

Does anyone have an 886, or any 86 series tractor with a Westendorf 42 loader? If so, could you post some poctures of both the front and rear mounts? I bought a WL-42 at an auction with what they said was 856 mounts. There was a lot of torch work on them, so I figure they were actually from something else originally. Westerdorf customer service said they wouldn"t work on an 886. I want to adapt the 856 mounts to work on my 886, but want to make sure I don"t miss something.

Thanks,

I put a WL42 on a 1086 last winter and I didn't have a clue what I was doing at the time. The brackets were 'IH brackets', that's all I knew about them. I had to drill some holes to make them work but they appear to be vairly universal, as long as you are willing to spend time fitting and drilling holes. These pics aren't the best because the loader is on the tractor. Hope you can make something of them. Sorry I couldn't do any better. Jim

Left side plate. The rear of the side plate is darned near at the rear of the frame rail. There were other holes torched already and I even had to weld a 2X2X3/8" plate with a pre-drilled hole over one of the botched torched holes. These side brackets aren't as tall as some I saw later but they work nonetheless. Mount them so the subframe of the loader is parallel with the tractor frame. A friend put a WL42 on a 1486 with the subframe going downhill as it went back to the rear brackets and the loader almost hit the front of the cab when it was clear up. Bringing the rear of the subframe up so it was level or darned near level with the frame solved that. The square tube going under the oil pan should be pretty close to the bottom of the pan.

Looking down on LH side plate from above. Not a very good view. Wish the loader was off so I could get better pics of the rear brackets.

The loader uprights get pretty close to the cab. The lower cab lights are pretty much useless. I plan to onplug these lights and add a couple of LED lights somewhere but I'm not sure where.

Side view of the front bracket but again not good enough with the loader in the way. This one is pretty straight forward and should be just a bit lower than the bottom of the grille.
