650 fuel control

I bought a 650 it arrived last night.I don't have an operators manual yet..can someone tell me what the fuel(gas) control knob in the operators station does? which way to turn it to start the tractor... thanks in advance

If it is the rod connected to the carb start with it closed (screwed in) and play with it once the tractor starts to get the best high speed idle. (Just finished getting a friends 650D running)

Red the knob enriches or leans up the fuel mixture on start up. On my 600 I set the levers to start choke out and turn the knob out. It only turns about a half turn. A couple revolutions with the choke on it fires up and after running 30 seconds turn the knob to the right(in) and let it warm up and switch it over.
