whats a good way to clean oil or residue from your tractors paint without ruining the paint with something like brake clean?
is there a product strong enough to remove oil that wont roll off your paint job?

if you rent a steam cleaner/power washer it should do well. It does a lot better job than just a pressure washer alone. That's what i use to clean the oil and grease from all of our construction equipment.

A hot water pressure washer can remove paint. I just removed some on my Super M, ok because I am going to bare metal anyway. This was a commercial machine I rented. Buying it is $$$$. The Walmart type may be ok. You can get a lot of the grease off with cold water, but you'll have to do some scraping. If you are trying to save the paint, there is no easy way.

Paint??? I have 6 tractors aroune here and they all earn their keep.
I would be lucky if I could take all the paint on them and find enough to cover the smallest one.

If you can get it and your paint is tight you can use Varsol which is a dry solvent and then a pressure washer. If done right you can get it clean enough to repaint.
But as my tractors work about 60-70 hours a week paint is the least of my worries. LOL If it aiint leaking something somewhere, its our of what ever it isnt leaking.

We use Dawn dish soap quite a bit. I've used a little in water to wash what paint IS left on my equipment & poured it right out of the bottle & worked it in with a brush for the toughest spots. Rinse however you would like.
