I have a 140 and a Super A could you guys tell me which parts, are interchangeable, Head, pistons, sleeves, rear end, transmission, drops. Or where I could get this info.? Thanks so much

I am making a Super A hybrid using a lot of 140 parts. The 140 block is different. The crankshaft is different. The sleeves are different.

What I can tell about the 140 block is that it has mounting holes for a water pump and fan assembly that the Super A blocks don't have. The rockshaft lift arms look identical except that the rockshaft arm on the 140 that had a helper spring had a larger diameter hole to accommodate the helper spring than the Super A had. The thread diameter for some of the mounting brackets on the side of the bellhousing and transmission is larger on the 140 than Super A.

The crank pulley on a 140 is different than a Super A. The crank is different from a 140 and a Super A. A 140 crank can be used for a Super A, but a Super A crank cannot be used for a 140. The 140 crank is threaded, if you cut the threaded part off it can be used for a Super A pulley. I have been scolded for doing that to the crank, but it worked. The cam is identical. The 140 fuel tank will mount on a Super A, but is taller.

Here's my youtube channel, I don't take it too seriously.

Here's my creation: 130 block, Super A head, 140 cam, 140 crank, 3-way valve job, combination of Super A and 140 lifters and tappets, Every bearing replaced, new valves, new valve springs, new valve followers, hardened valve seats. Rebuilt the oil pump using a combination of new parts a 140 oil pump and a Super A oil pump (new oil pump is $1300.00+). 140 oilpan, new timing gears on crank and cam, 140 flywheel, and will have her new clutch and ring gear put on soon.

(quoted from post at 14:45:50 09/28/11) The cam is identical. The 140 fuel tank will mount on a Super A, but is taller.

I think I should note that My Super A was Thermosiphon. The later model Super A's that had water pumps may have had taller gas tanks to accommodate the taller radiator. So, I have not been able to prove it, but the 140 fuel tank may fit the same as a Super A that had a factory water pump.
