Put a little spit shine on the tin work on my 400. I don't know if this tractor had ever been waxed in it's lifetime, but it's got wax on it now!

I used a 3M product called Finesse-It II, rubbing compound and glaze. All work was done by hand with copious amounts of elbow grease. I was really surprised how much oxidation this stuff took off. I followed up with some Turtle Wax to finish it out. I'm pretty happy with the results.

Looks great.

I'm a big fan of the original "lived in" look on these old tractors.

I appreciate the flawless museum quality restorations as much as anybody, but I really do prefer the ones that look like they're still working hard and running strong from day one.

Rubbing compound/wax is a great alternative to new paint. Get it clean and shiny and keep it original at the same time.

Thanks guys. This was my grandpa's tractor that he sold after he retired from farming. I found it, bought it back, and was fortunate enough that the person that bought it kept it shedded and hardly used it.

Just had it tuned up and it runs like a top. I am very glad we got this one back.
