W4 starter removal

Neighbour wants to remove starter and it will not clear belt pulley housing.How do you remove starter out of housing?

Its been many years since took mine off te tractor but believe I had to take the belt pulley drive off the tractor. Can't say for sure as memery is getting a little funny. lol

Take as many of the clutch over plate bolts out as you can get to, pry up on the cover and itll work out. OR take the belt pulley off as suggested.

My MD is the same way and it only has the belt pulley delete plate. You just have to take the plate off. Somebody even ground the plate a little bit and it still won't clear.
