Super C carb.

I have been reading the posts on here about the hassles with the stock carbs. The Super C that I have is just used for farm stock pulling. It came with a Carter carb on it when I got it. I went completely thru it and when it was apart someone had been into it drilling some of the tubes out bigger. From the day I got it, I never could get it to run lean. No matter what I did it ran black smoke rich. I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new Zenith from this site. I pulled with it Saturday and it was a different tractor. It went further in the two classes than it has ever gone before. I guess I need to take the "carb guys" advise and just buy a new one. You can only fix so much stuff!. You can get a lot of useful advise off this site.

The Carter that was on my 200 looked like it had been worked on with a pipe wrench and sledge hammer by the original owner. I had it professionally rebuilt and it would not stop flooding. I put a used Zenith from another tractor and it runs like a new tractor. I would rather have spent my money on a new Carburetor than to have wasted it on the Carter.

I had a Carter carb and had to pull it apart 4 times before I got it right. It lasted about a year and I fought with it a couple more times till I trashed it. I bought a used Zenith and rebuilt it. It worked great the 1st time and has lasted 2 years so far.
