c engine block

What is the difference between a farmall c block and a 200 block? I have c with a major cracked blocked 'water jacket" I have found a 200 block and was wanting to gut the c block and reinstall everything into the 200 block. Just not sure if it will work or not?

A lot will depend on the casting numbers of the blocks. Look behind the oil filter on both blocks. If the 200 uses the number 354898R* (it doesn't matter what number is where the star is) then it uses sleeves that are 3 7/16" OD at the O-ring seal. Unless your C uses the same casting number block it is highly likely that your sleeves will be the smaller 3 5/16" OD. Hope that made sense. Sam

IT should bolt in with out any problems. If I remember the 200 blocks have the water pumps just below the head like the later 140. But if you have the fan set up off the 200 it should work fine.

I don't know much, but I know the blocks you are looking for. The 200 will fit. It will fit. I have no experience with a 200, but I know those engine blocks. I have never seen one that had the water pump style like the 140. If you were to find a block that had that style of water pump like ShaggyM said you will need the upper and lower housing that connect to the water passage on the cylinder head and the block. I have a 140 block. I have the said parts that Shaggy mentioned, but you won't need them. I have gone through 3 blocks to build my motor. 3rd time is a charm for me. Good luck.

Block I'm using now for my Super A is a 130 block, you can still see the magnaflux powder:

My engine as of Thursday: Super A head, Super A rods, 130 block, 140 cam, & 140 crank. The 140 crank had to be modified to have the Super A pulley fit properly.

According to Hugh MacKay "Block 366204 R1 was used in 130 and 230." If I used that block for my Super A then the block you are interested will work with no issues.
