Hi all, I am looking to put a generator on an
F-20 I have a single V-belt pulley on fan. Can a fan from an H or m with the 2 pulley's on fan be fit to an F-20? Or should I just get another pulley and weld it to the fan pulley. Any imput would be a help. oldiron29

In the old days they made an aftermarket pulley for the crank pulley that clamped on with set screws. I have one I took off a F20 this summer. Email me if you are interested

Howard, I will keep that in mind, I was thinking of asking you what you had seen when you where cleaning the shed. I would like to set it up off the fan like on and H if possable. oldiron29

I don't think the H or M fan pulley will work on an F20 without some major modification and machining, because on the H & M, the pulley is part of the water pump. It seems to me I have seen a V pulley welded onto a flat belt F20 fan pulley before.

My dad put a starter on his 1939 F20 back in about 1948. A second V-pully was welded to the crankshaft pully. Not sure if the pully was part of the starter kit. Still have the F20 and can send you a picture of the generator setup if you want. Al

my 39 f-20 has the starter and generator on it. It is has the V-belt and the pully for the generator welded to the other one. I dont have the generator hooked up and would be intrested in how they were wire in.

Most of the v-belt generators are wired with a cut-out system, but some have a regulator. I have not wired mine yet, but I believe the cut-out only has one wire that heads straight to the amp gauge, or the battery, depending on how it's set up. If you need a v-belt fan pulley, generator and bracket, I may have an extra set. Email me if you're interested.

The generator on my 39 F20 has the cutout. The single wire from the cutout goes to one side of the ampmeter and the other side of ampmeter goes to the battery. Al

We should have a double fan pulley setup that heisler made to go with the starter kit. Alderson Tractor 641-624-2275
