I read in a post here on this forum that people are setting the head bolt torque to 80-ft lbs. these days, instead of the 65-ft. lbs. the manual calls for. Is that right?
I have a little seepage at the headgasket on the push-rod side of the engine and I was thinking of increasing the torque up from the 65-ft lbs. the manual recommends (I just rebuilt the engine and yes I retorqued the head). Can I really go to 80-ft lbs.?
