First pull this weekend (also posted in tractor talk)

Hi everybody this weekend is going to be my first pull with a farmall 350. The assoc. hosting thepull uses a tranfer sled and so my question is, what gear should I pull in? I no you want to get some momentum from the start but you dont want to dog out down the track..... so any ideas?

1st or 2nd gear will be best, save the TA until you get in softer ground, that is if the track is loose. If there is a speed rule, run 1st to be on the safe side.

Most antique only pulls will only let you pull in 1st in stock class. Usually*, unless you did some motor work there is no way you could compete in a different gear.

FYI I usually run my 13.6x38s at around 11 psi. Not sure what pressure for smaller tires. Hard track=hard tire

use 1st gear and then you will need to vary engine rpm to track conditions. 2nd gear you will run out of power.
