My Farmall 300 has a bad Hydraulic fluid leak coming from behind the dash panel. I believe there is some type of hydraulic pump between the gas tank and the control panel. I noticed the same leak on many other 300's. Where do you think it is leaking from, and How should I fix it?

well thats something you will have to find yourself. how can we find a leak without even a picture. take the hood off and have a look.then tell us where its leaking.then you can get advise on how to fix it.

Ever block, valve and lines have a oring between mountings. There is a gasket for a cover plate, valve and steering mounting column and the steering shaft support casting. Also the ends of the valve spools can have a leak. Hydraulic pump is on the engine. Regulator and saftey valves are in the block behind the gas tank, and a priority and steering saftey circut if equiped with power steering.

Can't remember if there is a breather up in that area on 300's. 450's have a breather that was prone to seeping/ leaking up there.
As red says--pull the hood & check for where the problem is. You'll have to have it off to remedy the problem anyway.

Some of the power steering system is located there. There are potential leaks from the hydraulic valves, reservoir, and hoses, and remotes. Clean it well, remove panels to see, and look for it. Jim
