Tag On C

Went to show Saturday, saw this C sitting all dudded up in its working clothes. Had a tag about 5" long, 1.2" wide, had IH (IH Logo) then some numbers stamped on it. It was bolted down with one bolt at the back of the hydraulic unit. It was also pretty flexible, but not so much it would break easily. Anybody know what this tag was for??

John, I no the replacement tags for the F series
tractor are large could it be someone used thr wrong tag on C ? oldiron29

That would have been the part number tag. Larger parts usually had a metal ID tag though they were usually attached with wire. In this case it may have been that the Touch Control was replaced as an assembly or the hydraulic system may have been added after the tractor left the factory.

Yeah, what Owen said. The part number tags were pretty common. He/We could have answered with more certainty if you had mentined what the "some numbers stamped on it" happened to be.

Dont recall for certain, but seemed like the first 2 were 42 or 41 or something. I couldnt really make out what they were.
