After draining the hydraulic oil to install new trans front seals and a seal in belly pump on my 52 farmall H,how much hydraulic oil should i put in it? the owners manual says 6 quarts, but it has a live pump and it seems like it would take a little more. thanks. Jim

If it has no dip stick, fill it to within 7 inches of the top of the fill tube where the crown cap is screwed. work the equipment some and refill. Plus or minus a few inches makes no difference. If it uses one way cylinders, make sure they are compressed before filling, or it will spray oil everywhere! Jim

Are you talking about the belly pump or a live pump? They are two different systems. The belly pump is not live and does take about six quarts but use 20W ND and not hydro
fluid.

If I understand correctly, the H has an aftermarket live hydraulic pump, and it uses the original belly pump as a reservoir? Live pump or NO live pump, that reservoir still holds 6 quarts.
